We love Refuge! We do the after school program and take weekly classes. It has been a wonderful activity for our whole family. With other athletic sports you are just a spectator but with taekwondo I actually get to take classes and participate WITH them. My son loves going to taekwondo at Refuge. I have seen a marked improvement in his behavior and in his manners since we started. They do a devotional before each class and pray after each class. I love how they put God first. I would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for an extracurricular for their child or for an activity for themselves.

Welcome to Refuge Martial Arts Ozark. We are a Christian based organization and have a passion for improving the mind, body and spirit of students of all ages. We teach Taekwondo, Self-defense, Jiu-Jitsu and healthy lifestyle choices. Refuge Martial Arts Ozark is an affiliate of Refuge Martial Arts HQ based in Headland, Alabama. Our local affiliates are Refuge Martial Arts HQ in Headland, Alabama, Refuge Martial Arts Abbeville and Enterprise YMCA Taekwondo. We are part of the American Taekwondo Foundation based out of Montgomery, Alabama under the teachings of Grand Master Y.S. Chung. Collectively American Taekwondo Foundation has over 26 schools throughout the southeast United States. Our Ozark Chief Instructor, Mr. Hamm has been in Martial arts for over 12 years in Taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and USA Judo. He holds a 4th degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Orange Belt in USA Judo. He is a Certified Instructor Taekwondo with the American Taekwondo Foundation. Mr. Hamm is married, and has 4 children. His family is heavily involved in martial arts holding multiple Black Belts among his wife and sons.
